Side effects of using Singulair (Montelukast Sodium):
Like all medications, Montelukast may have side effects too. The side effects of Singulair (Montelukast) are difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, tongue, throat or lips or allergic reactions hives. The side effects may also include skin rashes, numbness, muscle weakness, bruising of the skin, changes in mood and behavior, depression, severe tinkling, tremors or shaking and depressive suicidal thoughts.
The other side effects may be unusual bleeding through the nose, mouth, rectum or vagina or red or purple spots under the skin, severe sinus pain or irritation.
If any of the above symptoms are noticed, you should get medical help immediately from your doctor.
In case of a person taking an overdose of the medicine, immediate medical attention should be given as the symptoms of Singulair overdose is not yet known.
If while taking aspirin, your asthma attack worsens, then avoid taking aspirin or other NSAIDs.
Apprise the doctor of all the medicines you are already taking before using Singulair.
